Helping Every Learner Achieve Meaningful Growth

Private psychoeducational evaluations for students and adults who have always wondered why learning felt harder than it should, and are ready for answers.

Success in school grows when we identify and understand a learner's strengths and areas of challenge.

At Learning Curve, we collaborate with you to build a strong foundation for learning and social growth by honoring each learner's exceptionalities.

How we can help

Each evaluation starts with a conversation about what you have noticed and what you want to understand.

Private evaluations for diagnosis

For individuals seeking a diagnosis tied to educational and vocational impact: ADHD, Autism, and learning disorders. You receive a clear report for school, college, or work.

Returning to school after a long pause

For adults and students heading back to school who struggled before and never knew why. We uncover the pattern, name it, and build a plan that fits.

Girls and women with suspected Autism or ADHD

These conditions are often missed in girls and women, who may mask, over-work, or compensate. Evaluation attends to how they commonly present.

Independent educational evaluations (IEEs)

When you disagree with a school's evaluation, an IEE gives an independent look at a student's strengths and needs.

Learning disorders

Evaluation of reading, writing, and math difficulties, including dyslexia and other specific learning disorders.

Results and accommodations

Help understanding your results and requesting the right supports at school, in college, or at work.

Valerie Casares, Ed.S., Licensed Educational Psychologist

Meet Valerie Casares, Ed.S.

I'm so happy you are here! My name is Valerie Casares, Licensed Educational Psychologist and School Psychologist based in Bellflower, CA. I have worked in the education field for over 15 years.

Throughout those years, I have seen the difficulties faced by many who don't fit the "average" learner mold. I have a passion for supporting women and girls who may be struggling due to underlying social and emotional difficulties that can be overlooked when masking is high. I am also dedicated to serving adults looking to find supports as they transition back into school later in life.

Given my experience in the public school systems, I have seen first hand how unmet needs greatly impact our K-12 learners. I offer Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) to help explore and identify the barriers in your student's learning at a deeper level. Empowered with data and actionable items, we work in tandem with the school team to make sure your student makes meaningful growth!

Common questions

How do I know if an evaluation is right for me or my child?

Persistent trouble with reading, writing, math, focus, or school stress that does not improve with support are common reasons. Adults returning to school who have always wondered why learning felt harder can benefit too. A free consultation can help you decide.

Will schools, colleges, or employers accept your report?

Reports document educational and vocational impact and can support requests for accommodations at school, in college, or at work. Final decisions are made by each school team, institution, or employer.

Do you accept insurance?

Private assessments are paid through private pay. We offer superbills for potential insurance reimbursement, although we do not guarantee that services will be covered. School districts that approve a request for an IEE will pay the cost of the requested psychoeducational assessment.

Let's connect and see how I can support you!

Please tell me a bit about yourself or your child and what service you may be interested in. I will get back to you within a few days. Thank you!
